Chief Innovation Officer
Sandra joined TerraCorps in April 2020. She brings a business mindset and innovative tools to strengthen TerraCorps’s value proposition and mission-driven business model. After a 15-year career as a corporate innovator and five years leading her innovation consulting firm, Sandra joins for the first time a non-profit organization to help Terracorps amplify its vision and achieve sustainable growth toward its Ends.
Sandra identifies as a cisgender, straight woman, born and raised in Colombia, who recently emigrated to the USA. One of the privileges she acknowledges is having the opportunity to travel around the world and work and live in four different countries, which gave her a broader perspective on cultural differences and, at the same time, the awareness that we are all equal as human beings. Whenever possible, she uses that privilege to bring different perspectives to co-create products and services that generate value for people and society.
Sandra holds an MSc in Biochemical Engineering from Universidad Nacional de Colombia; she also earned postgraduate diplomas in Creativity and Innovation from Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona), and in Project Management, from Universidad Industrial de Santander (Bogotá). She has successfully held leadership positions in prominent companies in Latin America, such as Head of Research and Development (Quala S.A.), Marketing Manager for the Andean region (International Flavors and Fragrances), and Innovation Manager, and Manager of Culture of Innovation (Belcorp). Her experience has led her to understand that organizations must assume a leadership role to build a more equitable society, and she sees that TerraCorps is working towards building a world that allows all segments of society to have access to the benefits that land offers.
