LSC/SAC with Barnstable Land Trust & Resilient Roots
My name is Gabby (she/her) and my roots are from the Midwest, but I call myself lucky to reside on beautiful Cape Cod for the next 6 months to serve with TerraCorps, Barnstable Land Trust, and Resilient Roots. I recently graduated from Iowa State University in fall 2020 with a B.A. in Political Science and Environmental Studies and am pursuing a JD. in Environmental Law with the ambition of entering the fields of climate change law and policy or land management. In-between degrees I’m eager to expand my perspective and get hands-on experience at the intersection of land conservation, sustainable food systems, and community engagement. When I’m not in class or on the job I love to partake in outdoor recreation activities such as hiking, kayaking, camping, and climbing with my best accomplice- my humorously large bernese mountain dog named Finley. An ongoing passion of mine over the past few years has been touring National Parks, whether they be international or domestic. Notably my favorite so far have been Amboseli and Tsavo West National Parks in Kenya, Serengeti and Mount Kilimanjaro National Parks in Tanzania, and Rocky Mountain and Acadia National Parks in America. I look forward to fusing my recreational and professional passions and gained perspectives, and to establishing friendships and community relationships while deepening my understanding of our Earth through this position and my future education and career.
