LSC with Aquidneck Land Trust
Anita is originally from Washington, DC and graduated from Barnard College of Columbia University in May of 2019 with a degree in Ecology. While in school, she worked on a variety of ecological research projects, which included studying Pacific krill physiology in the Puget Sound, observing yellow-bellied marmot social behavior in the Rocky Mountains, and exploring wildlife and land management practices in Kenya. Anita also has experience working on and leading conservation crews in Alabama, South Carolina, and Washington state. She is particularly interested in using research to inform conservation programs and land management planning. After college, she moved to Puerto Rico to work on rhesus macaque research and then to Boston to work in biotech. This year, Anita is excited to contribute to the preservation of the many beautiful open spaces on Aquidneck Island as a Land Stewardship Coordinator with Aquidneck Land Trust.
